Cerium Oxide

Lapmaster Cerox is a Cerium Oxide based polishing powder. All the components of this preparation are registered in most inventories (EINECS, TSCA, MITI, etc...).

We have three type of cerium Oxide available;

    • Cerox 1650
    • Cerox 1663
    • Cerox 1670

Cerox 1650

Cerox 1650 is effective with most types of polishing pads under normal working conditions.

It is particularly suitable for:

  • Polishing spherical or toric opthalmic lenses, using low density polyurethane as well as slightly hardened felt cloth pads.
  • Polishing prescription lenses using Pellon pads.
  • Polishing optical lenses using pitch.
  • Installations for polishing large pieces, such as mirrors and television screens.

Because of the firmness and fineness of the particles, Cerox 1650 retains its effectiveness over a long time without burning the glass or forming sleeks, even when used with modern machines working under pressure at high speeds.

Cerox 1663

Cerox 1663 is particularly suited to the polishing of opthalmic lenses (mass production and prescription) and optical lenses.

It has three main advantages;

  • A high polishing efficiency which permits use at low concentrations.
  • A very high cleanliness which gives polished surfaces without any scratches.
  • Excellent suspension properties.

Cerox 1670

Cerox 1670 is recommended for polishing with natural felts as well as synthetic pads. It is primarily for polishing mirrors and crystal ware by hand or by machine, but it is also equally suitable for polishing opthalmic lenses using low density polyurethane pads. The particular structure of Cerox 1670 permits the impregnation of felt without filling or clogging the holes.
